Over the past few years since the Kittenbus was changed from a plain, black Suzuki X-90 into a pawed, tailed and balled portrait of cuteness, a lot of things have happened.  Good and Bad.  Here is a little journal of some of the more memorable experiences we have shared.  Newer entries at bottom.

Just after having completed work on Kittenbus, we began the long drive home.  A fuel stop in Illinois gave us two country boys in a red pickup.  I quote their conversation:

"What the hell is that thing!?"
"Damn, boy! Cain't you read?  It's a kittenbus!"

Nausicaa.net gives us a mention in their news page and add us to links

and

Ricecop's Rice or Not car review site lists us.  Some comments are pretty harsh, but some are rather nice.

Two kids (like 10-12) who live up the street start roughhousing with each other around our cars and one decides it would be fun to try and mark my car as his territory.  I see him start to unzip his pants and yell at him to get away.  He managed to pee on the street and barely missed hitting my car, which was his intended target.  UPDATE:  They have since moved away.  Hooray!

Kittenbus's back passenger tire is slashed.  Luckily we have insurance for that...

During the evening, one of the Metro buses sideswiped Kittenbus (parking is on the street) and left small dents and scuff marks, and removed my driver's side mirror.

Also, someone has been firing a BB gun at the driver's door...

January 2005

Being a driver with no side mirror, I managed to back Kittenbus into a parked truck.  His bumper sustained no evidence whatsoever that anything happened.  Kittenbus has a dent on the passenger corner of the back bumper.  UPDATE:  The dent was popped out with the use of pressure and a hair dryer.  Thanks for the tip, Dad!  Didn't fix the paint, though...

The passenger window is busted out by unknown vandal.  Nothing is stolen.

Bluesnews.com links to Kittenbus and the hit counter shows more than 4,000 hits just today!  How nice!

A friend goes to Japan and takes photos of Kittenbus to send to Hayao Miyazaki himself.  Hooray for Jinxa!  She's the best!

I wake up and am running late for work only to find a neon red paintball exploded and firmly wedged into the edge of the trunk beneath the license plate.  The good news?  They missed the balls!  After a bit of scrubbing the paint came off without leaving any stains.
